Nioh 3 Confirmed as Timed Console Exclusive for PlayStation 5
Exclusivity Period and Platform Availability
Koei Tecmo has established a timed console exclusivity agreement with PlayStation for the upcoming action-RPG, Nioh 3. The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on February 6, 2026. Information revealed through a new PlayStation 5 features video indicates that the title will remain exclusive to the Sony console for a period of six months. Consequently, Nioh 3 will not be available on other consoles until at least August 2026. While the developers are permitted to plan a release for Xbox Series X/S after this window expires, no specific launch date for other platforms has been specified at this time.
Demo Progress and Save Data
Ahead of the release, details regarding the game's demo version have been confirmed. Developers have ensured that save data from the demo has been backed up, allowing players to transfer their progress directly into the full game. This feature permits users to continue their playthrough from where they left off in the trial version without needing to restart the campaign upon the official February launch.
PlayStation 5 Technical Enhancements
The PlayStation 5 version of Nioh 3 incorporates several hardware-specific features designed to utilize the console's capabilities. Visually, the game supports 4K resolution for players utilizing compatible 4K displays. The title also integrates full-fledged haptic feedback via the DualSense controller, intended to simulate directional impact from enemy hits and provide distinct vibrations for various in-game interactions. Additionally, adaptive triggers are utilized to create different levels of resistance for mechanics such as archery and gunshots. The audio experience is supported by 3D audio technology, allowing players to spatially locate the origin of sounds within the game environment.
