Kodansha has announced that "The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity," written and illustrated by SakaMikami, has surpassed 10 million copies in circulation. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the manga, which first began serialization in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app and has since been compiled into 21 tankobon volumes.
The series follows the romance of Kaoruko Waguri and Rintaro Tsumugi, who attend different high schools and live on opposite sides of the social spectrum. As they learn more about each other, the buds of love begin to bloom with dignity.
The manga's success is not only reflected in its sales but also in its cultural impact. Over the past six months, half of the 10 million copies sold have been distributed, indicating strong and consistent demand from readers worldwide.

When the manga first surpassed 8 million copies in circulation, back in October, Kodansha celebrated the occasion by running 47 newspaper ads featuring iconic scenes from the series along with the prefectures' most iconic flower.
Special commemorative videos were also released, and various Kaoru Hanawa and Rinto Saku newspaper ads were available for fans to view. Additionally, a special promotional video will be aired on the Shinjuku Vision and Umeda HEP Front Vision throughout the week.
Kodansha has been actively promoting the manga through social media campaigns, inviting fans to share their appreciation messages. Some of these messages will be displayed on the Shinjuku Vision screen in Tokyo. An additional promotional video will also be aired throughout the week.
Since its serialization starting in October 2021, "The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity" has been a consistent hit for Kodansha. The publisher has released an English digital version through their MangaKodansha website and app, while Kodansha USA has handled the print version distribution in other regions.
CloverWorks produced the TV anime adaptation of the series, following Kaoru Hanawa and Rinto Saku as they navigate their romance amidst social gaps and cultural differences. The anime has been well-received by fans, further cementing the manga's popularity.
